Summary0009614: Dark Spire are winning (against the AI O.O)
DescriptionSo yeah. Full on zombie apocalypse courtesy of the Dark Spire. You'll notice I have scout pickets on most of the planets in the top-middle cluster. Those scout pickets are there because the Dark Spire cleared everything after being anger-ified by the Devourer Golem.

I think it's really funny, but it also means that I can't clear any of the planets with Vengeance Generators on them to do Fallen Spire objectives and whatnot because if I take out the AI command station, my allied zombies/dysons/other dudes will run in and start duking it out with the Dark Spire and just make the matter worse (notice the 0000259:0000160 Dark Spire on Apezagar; the Dyson Sphere, Human Rebels, botnet zombies, and offroad allied ships have been keeping that one going all game).

Not sure exactly how you'd fix it since I don't know the nitty-gritty details of Vengeance Generator number crunching...

The main thing is not to enable the devourer and the dark spire at the same time if you don't want this to happen :)

I might be able to get devourer-kills and maybe enemy-to-all roaming enclaves to not count for this purpose (but I do want other minor-faction-caused kills to count, that's why I didn't add the more general rule), since the player doesn't have any control over those.

As far as moving in on the vengeance generator systems, remember that dying Dark Spire ships do not contribute to the counter: if you can take them out without significant casualties you'll be fine.

For 5.084:

* Kills by the Devourer Golem or Enemy-to-all Roaming Enclaves (or their squadrons) no longer contribute to the Dark Spire counter when on the same planet as one of the vengeance generators.

Is there a slow trickle of build points to Vengeance Generators or do only kills count? Because the planet in my territory has been thoroughly cleared numerous times by my friendly neighborhood Dyson Gatlings, and the Dark Spire keep appearing from *somewhere* without anything actually dying (apparently).

Only kills count, but when one generator is triggered it also spawns (a somewhat smaller spawn) at all other generators that have previously been triggered. So holding one of their planets is always a bit risky, unless you managed to take it without triggering the generator there.
