Summary | 0004719: Storm Dash - Preserve momentum while jumping
Description | If you jump while dashing (or dash in the air) you will continue and your super speed until the spell wares off. Then, your magical air breaks kick in and you revert to normal speed. I realize this would give the spell more utility, as you could prolong the speed a bit; however, I think this would also reward skillful and clever use as well as feeling more natural. If you wanted to bound through the overland you would have to use the different slopes and cliffs to your advantage. If you were underground, you would have to be much more careful with your footing. It would be a risk/reward thing with, I believe, possibilities for more emergent and dynamic game play. Bat form would not be affected and you would retain the double damage debuff until your speed reverts back to normal, so as to not gain any benefits "for free"

Or, this could be a different version of the Storm Dash spell, when modified. |
|
Thanks! * Really changed up the physics of how movement acceleration is applied internally. Now you keep your momentum even after you slow down, which feels more realistic and natural, and makes storm dash more useful in some circumstances and storm rush less useful in some circumstances (indoors, principally). |
|
I could not possibly be more excited for a change than I am for this one. Thanks! |

Glad to hear it! By the way, it does still apply the same way to bat form -- I like to keep things consistent. But because of another change that is related -- the stuff from 0004914 -- you REALLY can control things even more now. |
