Summary0026800: Mysteriously long Multiphase on some AI guardians.
DescriptionI have no idea how this happened, but there are some AI guardians (Teslas) on Nygaard in the attached save that have been in multi-phase since they left the wormhole on the planet a minute or two ago, and remain in it for several more minutes afterwards. I'm not even using any phasing weapons, so they either got targeted by their own side, or the architrave (In which case they've been in multiphase for a *long* time, and it would also indicate that border aggression against architraves is somehow getting thrown against the player, so I'll keep an eye out for that and file a proper report if I have firm evidence.)

But in any case, something is clearly wrong for them to stay in multi-phase so long.

(They finally came out of multiphase around 6-7 minutes later.)

There are no guardians on Nygaard, only player ships.

I also checked the planet Troia (from the save game name) and there are no weirdly phased ships. There are some ships that are supposed to go in and out of phase, and they seem to be working correctly from a cursory examination.

Feel free to reopen this if you have another save

Urgh, my sincere apologies, I don't know how that happened. The attached save should be the right one. Sorry again.

Reopened with correct save, my apologies.

(I think I remember now, the other save was me being confused about why there were fragmenting guardians in a relentless wave, and I must have got confused between which strange guardian case I was mantis-ing)

These guardians are set to stay in multi-phase for another 5 minutes, so the game is working correctly at this point. The question of how they got a 5+ minute exile to multiphase is unknown though, and that's the interesting question. Do you have a save from shortly before they got into that state? Could you reproduce this?

Unfortunately not that shortly before. The nearest save I have is 15 minutes before (Ironically it's the Strange Guardians save I uploaded first by mistake). I was able to locate what might be the guardians in question in that save (Same type and matching primary keys, but it might be that the primary keys had already been recycled and both happened to land on the same guardian type, I don't know what the game's recycling rate is. Seems *unlikely*, but possible.)
They're initially flagged as border aggro against me, then when a wormhole closes they change their mind and go fight the architrave. But with me keeping an eye on them, they just die there. Is there a way in the release version to see how long a vessel is flagged to stay in multiphase for?

I have more information. First, I have two saves. From "quick", if you send one or two of the Spire battleship flagships against the architrave whose space they're raiding, and just keep attacking till they run into the architrave's shiny new golems, they should be crippled... and phased. Phased for a significant time. You can see this result in "Phased Battleship" (On Kyosuke). That's the factual part.

Now for some conjecture: This might be related to them being crippled, but I don't think so. I think it's the same thing that multiphased the guardians:
I think it's related to the nature of the weapons that the phased architrave ships have. Most normal architrave ships, their phasing weapons only work in realspace. So things in multiphase don't have more phasing stacks applied. The one exception the architrave had access to before the latest patch being the bustuarius. I think those guardians earlier were part of a force that managed to kill a phased castra and release the 3xbustuarius, got hit a lot of times at long range, accumulated a large stack of phasing time with no cap, with their fortified property being what let them get lucky and escape again. So the *bug* is that the multiphase time is being added, not set, with each shot, perhaps?

Updated with a version of the save that doesn't use mods, sorry, I didn't realise those were still on after I looked at someone else's save.
