Summary0024578: Hunter fleet responds slowly to changes in planet situation during Homeworld Assault
DescriptionDuring my last 10 win, the Hunter fleet that was camping on the homeworld decided to go attack a military station with a lost energy reactor on it and destroy it rather than help defend the homeworld. The station was the closest planet, but an economy station was linked via wormhole and arguably just as quick to take. If not reinforced, a second, seperate part of the hunter fleet from another cluster later comes in to destroy this economy station. This was the first weird decision.

The second weird decision comes from the fact that after noticing the Hunter fleet go after that military station, I tiered up the military station and reinforced it with turrets. Despite the planet now outgunning the Hunter fleet, it still tried to destroy this military station, resulting in it getting mostly wiped out.

I think that the hunter fleet should re-evaluate its target if the planet's strength changes. I don't know how often it would need to do this, but right now even if I mark up the military station and start building turrets the moment the hunter fleet starts to depart from the homeworld, it still goes after the (now too powerful) military station.

If I tier up the military station before starting the homeworld assault, the hunter fleet remains on the homeworld and does not go after the military station. I still feel it could snipe the economy command station in this situation, but staying on the homeworld here also makes sense.

In MilitaryOutpostHWBait, move ally ships from Levant onto Zadeh to trigger the hunter fleet assault on Pandora. If the military station is leveled before moving ally ships from Levant onto Zadeh, the hunter fleet does not perform the assault.

Bait Triggered is after I level the outpost and build up the appropriate defenses to deal with the wave. In the best (worst) case scenarios, all the exogalactic ships commit and die before the Hunter Fleet starts to pull back. At no point does this particular part of the fleet target Saxon, which would be a much safer and easier option to go for, though another hunter fleet from within the cut off cluster eventually shows up to attack that one if not reinforced as well.

Loading this up in the new version, I'll be curious if it exhibits the same behavior. If so, please let me know. I ran out of time.

The saves still work as written in the new version 2.760, however the large turrets may require some engineer micro to actually kill the wave before the military station is destroyed. The hunter fleet still does not attack the planet if it is science-leveled first, and it still never rotates to Saxon.
Though now the initial fleet takes so long to get destroyed that the other part of the hunter fleet attack Saxon before the initial fleet is wiped out
