Summary | 0024559: Multiplayer suggestion
Description | Coming from AI War 1, the flagship based fleets were something weird, but not horrible getting used to, but playing in multiplayer and having a teammate be able to rip ships off of one of my fleets without warning. I understand the thought process behind only allowing one set of ships per unlock or whatever, but I do not understand the logic behind sharing those same limited types between players like that. Maybe only let the players who unlock ships use them, or let both players use them independently but it changes some AI progress? I'm not sure how it would work, but as it stands now my buddies and I are thinking of refunding the game because of this.

Being able to swap shiplines between players was a highly desired feature. This is a cooperative game after all; if your team isn't cooperating then talk to them about it. |

Yep, it labels which player owns each fleet, even color-coded, so it should not be happening by accident unless someone is really not paying attention at all. This game gives you infinite tools for griefing other players, if that's the sort of group involved. You can silently remove yourself from being in control of your empire and then start sharing control of someone else's empire. You can then order their units about without consulting them. This is super helpful for people who are helping newer players, but if someone has mischief in mind then they can certainly also mess with people that way. Similarly, you can kick someone to being a spectator, or do admin-like changes even if you are not the host. It's not a game that is meant to be played with antagonists. Where possible, we went out of our way to prevent accidents while still giving power. If someone is transferring fleet lines, it says the name of the fleet, the planet, and the player right on the listing. If someone is not seeing what player it comes from, I wonder if they are seeing what planet it is on in general; that just doesn't make sense to me that someone would rip a random unit from who knows where to bring to a fleet. |
