Summary | 0024297: Viral Shredders Make More and More Copies Upon Loading Saves | ||||
Description | I noticed something with viral shredders. I would think that I would have a 1:1 ratio of viral shredders to viral shredder copies. It remains so assuming I don't exit out of the game. Whenever I load my save with viral shredders, however, I wind up with viral shredder copies that do not respond to my fleet commands. It is as if they behave like war harvesters and war siegers. This results in a greater than 1:2 ratio of viral shredders to viral shredder copies unless I send the offending viral shredder copies to their deaths. There are several issues that can arise from this. One is that a player could easily make so many viral shredder copies by loading a save, make viral shredder copies, make a save, then load the next save, and repeat. Any consequences from using (or not using) the shredder copies ensue: counterattacks, eye activation, mass creation of Nanocaust husks, or a slow wave of your viral shredder copies to overwhelm a superterminal or a juicy target (such as a Scourge Facility). Note that viral shredders are in "The Spire Rises" DLC. | ||||

Thanks! * The xml field cannot_actually_be_built has been replaced by two fields: ** cannot_actually_be_built_is_not_a_ship_line for empty slots. ** cannot_actually_be_built_builds_self_indirectly for viral shredder copies and similar. ** Previously there were a variety of strange things that could happen because viral shredder copies were set up identically to "empty ship lines" in this. *** It's possible that in some of the fleet sidebars and swap line popouts, viral shredder copies may show up inappropriately now. If you find any cases of that, please let us know. ** One bug that was happening before was that viral shredder copies were having their fleet membership disconnected from their actual fleets, which made them not able to get in transports after that point or be selected properly with the fleet. *** For viral shredder copies in existing savegames that had this problem, they now work just fine when you load the savegame (they don't have to suicide themselves or anything like that). |
