Description | No AOE graphics are showing. None for tesla, plasma, or grenade. The AOE is working, just not being drawn. In my save I have some l tesla torpedo launchers and tesla corvettes on Postel. They have no lightning effect when they fire. I also have some grenade launchers in a nearby fleet you can test with. This bug used to be about just tesla lightning graphics, but Puffin observed this is happening for all AoE effects. | ||||

Tesla effects aren't working for me either. Though honestly I'm not really bothered by it; I'm not a huge fan of the tesla effects to be honest. |

Fair enough, but there should be some visual indication, even if the prior one gets replaced with something more subtle |

It kinda bugs me that the damage happens before the lightning flash does, but on the grey indicators instead. I'm not sure why they're delayed like that in the first place. |

Flak/Grenade and Plasma AoE visual effects do not appear either. |

Thanks! * Fixed a very small parser error that was causing AOE effects to not show up at all, ever. This was introduced a bit ago when we improved the xml parser for modders. * When Autobombs blow up, they now have a flak-style effect that appears around them. ** Same for all of the minefields. * Added a new xml flag, is_okay_with_null_aoe_effect_for_aoe_attack, which is used for the ExplosiveInvisible shot type, aka for Crusher turrets and weapons. ** These are meant to be invisible AOE damage that crushes stuff near them, and so we don't want the (new) "usual" error of "hey there's a missing AOE visual effect when you are doing an AOE attack" to happen. ** Actually, we wound up suppressing the error, because more things were hitting it than expected and it's not worth it. * The flak effects now appear again properly, we can now verify. This being with grenade launchers most notably. They're on the small side, but that's somewhat by design so they are not overwhelming the battlefield. ** The tesla effects are also back, but again more thin and more reasonably sized. We may need to look into scale on these some in the future at some point. ** For the flak effects, they do seem to be strangely crunched down on themselves compared to what we were seeing in our videos, but we'll have to investigate that at some point in the future. |
