Summary0023485: Can double click to select all diferentiate between broken, (building maybe) and built turrets?
DescriptionThis mostly comes up when making a beach head and one wants to reset the building of the broken turrets. As it is, they all have to be selected manually.

I'd like input from other players as to if they would find selection of turrets in the middle of being built useful.

This also might be a player side option, rather than default depending on how people feel.

This is not a gameplay bug, but putting that aside, I don't think making this change would be a good idea, since it'll further enable construction resets when we just got finished, barely, not implementing a cooldown on deleting turrets. I believe if this change was made, it eventually culminates in rendering itself useless as construction resetting became more of a problem and building cooldowns have to be added.

I will remind everyone the only reason why this bit of micro is possible is because fixing it requires making a gameplay change that was actively resisted like literally last week.

@ParadoxSong: I'd still say it still is resisted. I disagree strongly with it, it's just going to add more tedious and delay into the game (when we moved away from it by removing the dual Metal/Crystal resources of AI War 1). Now I do agree command stations can use a timer before rebuilding after the AI killed it, that's fair. Applying the mechanic to ALL buildings though? That's just painfully annoying. It's also going to be an nightmare to track on the map.

I support the ability to select remains of turrets that are destroyed, without being forced to select healthy turrets at the same time. I don't think turrets in the process of being built are worth selecting specifically. (I think Puppetmaster wanted the ones as "remnants" too, since he's trying the tactics based on my playstyle.)

The manual selecting is a pain, especially if you're cluttering multiple turrets type near a wormhole (Ambush, Splash, Grav, Tractor, Tesla...). Currently you have no way of just selecting remnants, and sometimes you specifically don't want to rebuild the destroyed ones because you got better turrets from the GCA and you're saving metal by leaving the living turrets alive and just swapping the dead ones.
