I saw the thread, and have read through a lot of it, but it sounds like things in general are fairly vague on his end. I get that he felt like he didn't have a grasp of the strategic importance of a lot of things, but there are not a lot of specifics.

The two examples he brings up, warden bases and astro trains, are both extra options in the lobby that you have to specifically turn on. So I'm assuming that he's not just complaining about those, but has something more central that is making him feel uneasy.

If there's anything that isn't clear that we can make more clear, that would always be worth doing. Pretty much it's a matter of spot-identifying such things as they are brought up. The individual in question seems to be pretty much making sweeping statements rather than identifying any real items that he wanted to know. So there's not a lot I can do with that.

Warden Fleet Bases specifically mention their function, with no mention of any further function. He was concerned that there might be further function, but there is not, and I'm not sure that writing "these only do what they say they do" is a great idea on there. There may be something else that needs to be done there, but I'm not sure and have a lot on my plate -- specific suggestions are always welcome.

(By the way, you should be able to get the lobby-style tooltips without going to the lobby now by going to the factions screen in the escape menu for the last month or two -- time saver!)

On the astro trains issue, I'm not even clear on what's not clear, or where the info would be desirable. Badger added those when he was a volunteer and has been adding to them over time, as have a few other volunteers who found them interesting as a secondary faction to beef up.

I'm assuming that there must be some gaping holes in the actual core game explanation that is causing this person to feel discomfited, or that he's concerned that there are big chunks of data that he's missing. If the intel tab, the tooltips on ships, and the "how to play" section doesn't have the relevant info, then for sure it's something we'd want to add. But as of the last time I stopped by the thread, there wasn't anything specific.
