Summary0023003: Exos shouldn't use Invasion Wormholes
DescriptionExo waves such as those in Fallen Spire are designed to have to go through normal space to their targets. When a Wormhole Invasion happens, they can use those (with no warning when the wormhole spawns, unlike the actual Invasion forces they are designed for). This leaves the player with no reasonable recourse and mixes two mechanics that don't appear to be designed to work together. I strongly recommend that such exos be barred from using invasion wormholes, or else be given a similar countdown to existing Invasions for using them.

My $0.02: For what it's worth, I hate it when the AI does this, but it does feel reasonable. What does feel obnoxious is the way it ignores the wormhole's initial warning period, which was increased up to it's current value for very good reason, wheras Fallen Spire can drop 10k through the wormhole even faster than the original implementation could drop it's first wave, so I certainly do agree it should respect the opening period.

The behavior is totally appropriate for the AI -- you have the agency to remove wormhole invasions via hacking points

Wormhole invasions are extremely dangerous but they are mechanically the same as a working warp gate. Plan accordingly

That's simply not true for the case Strategic Sage mentions and I entirely talk about, though: You can't hack the wormhole away if the exo spawns less than ten seconds after it first appears.

* Exogalactic Attacks are not eligible to come through the Exogalactic Wormhole from Wormhole Invasions until the first other ships have come through the wormhole. It's still very hard, but you can see it coming so there's less RNG.

I liked Lord of Nothing's suggestion; it keeps wormhole invasions as a source of major additional difficulty, but you'll definitely be forewarned
