Summary0021756: Suggestion for mine variant: Gravity Mine
In my new game against AI Royals, the player lacks any meaningful counters to the terror that is the Royal Stealth Guardians--these can destroy your HW faster than you realize you are under assault. This made me realize that players are inherently vulnerable to these units (and similar) because they have high albedo and high engines--they ignore most CC

Players should have ready access to something that can mitigate these tactics--this inspire a concept for a Mine

Gravity mine: no damage (minimal if needed) but strong CC
Units are knockbacked in the immediate area, large slow in a larger area that hits engines <=23 gx
1st-time triggers, gets a huge bonus to attack rate for 5 attacks (*new mechanic needed; could be used in other capacities too)

Doesn’t kill itself; very slow base cooldown, so this thing essentially triggers 5 times in succession, slowing things down massively, and then cloaks and rearms
This will create a temporary zone of massive slow application and pushback (to those succeptible). So this can actually make raid frigates/stealth guardians vulnberable, if placed wisely
Probably should get *far* fewer of these sort of mines (1/3 normal amount seems ok)

Extremely unlikely - they'd need new icons and models, neither of which are available or possible right now.

* Stealth Guardian engine 18 -> 9.

Now has similar engine to the Raptor, which is cloaked and actually faster, so it still fits into my...unofficial "class" system. Coupled with the above mention of it being unlikely, just closing this as the culprit is nullified.

AI Raid Frigates still exist but...they're super, super rare. It's something ludicrous like 1 in 500 you get a planet with them selected. Maybe a change to them separately, though I think they're funnily enough weaker than the Guardians...

Changing the stats on the stealth guardian was an obvious alternative xd
engine slowers will be nice against them now, yay!

Viscious raid starships can be pretty nasty (and you will see *tons* of them when you face that AI type)--but they aren't as fearsome as the royal stealth guardians
