Summary | 0021625: Remote destruction of defences
Description | I think it would be good if we could have an opportunity to destroy defences at the building menu of a factory or fortress, instead of searching them among the all systems. That would make game more comfortable in situations when we want to move over defencies from old positions to the frontline.

Right Click the Battlestation/Citadel Fleet in the Fleet Menu, while looking at the Galaxy Map and scrap. It'll scrap all of its turrets, everywhere. |
Can it be made in the form of a button, because it is not much untuitive and obvious? |
Several people have opened this bug report, which suggests that right now the UI isn't helpful enough. I think explaining how to do this definitely should be added to one of the How To Play Tips |
I am not sure if relying just on keyboard without doubling key commands like disembark in GUI is a good UI-building strategy. |
If you are using the gui for load/unload you are Doing It Wrong. Like playing starcraft w/o hotkeys |
Using keys of course faster, but Starcraft still do have all the gui, which not only can be used directly, but also remindss that the functions exists and make it possible to play if, for instance, keyboard broke up. |

"Using keys of course faster, but Starcraft still do have all the gui, which not only can be used directly, but also remindss that the functions exists and make it possible to play if, for instance, keyboard broke up." -- As a design philosophy, I 100% agree with this. Buttons with tooltips that tell you the corresponding keyboard command are needed for everything if you want your game to be remotely accessible to most people. Discoverability is the keyword here. Now in terms of destroying the turrets, you can also double-click the flagship. Basically any method that selects the whole fleet. And then you scrap, but that's scary and unnatural as hell, and you get a popup telling you you can't scrap your flagship, which demonstrates that this is a dirty workaround not a feature. I think it's absolutely critical to the game that this be exposed as an actual feature. But beyond that, you also need ways of tracking down any lost units from your fleet no matter what system they're in. Sometimes you're under pressure in multiple systems and want to just move a few turrets somewhere else, not scrap all of them when you're already out of metal. |
Thanks! * In the fleet popout, there is now a button that shows you how many distant members there are (units of the fleet on other planets) for mobile and battlestation type fleets, and you can click that button to immediately scrap all of the units on distant planets if you wish. ** This is a really long-requested feature since fleets have been added (in particular battlestations). |
