Summary0021388: Friendly marauders increasing AIP but not giving scouting info
DescriptionSo I get that marauders can kill AI bases and if they are allied to you that means you gain the progress that comes with destroying a command station/warpgate but I think it's silly that if they are going to do that anyways, I have to try to snag the last hit on the command station to gain scouting info. I'm going to get AIP either way so why not just make it so if an allied faction is going to destroy AIP increasing structures at least make it count for scouting purposes. Otherwise I don't think people will ever play with these factions as allies.

I'm going to have to defer to Badger on this one, but my understanding is that the friendly marauders get the AIP, not you -- unless you go colonize that planet. At which point... maybe you also get the scouting info? I'm honestly not sure on that part.

It may be that the last part is what it missing, or it may be that the friendly marauders are giving you AIP when it really should be them as a faction that are getting it. That's how a lot of the other factions work.

Something is definitely amiss here, I'm just not sure which part in the chain right now. Thanks for the report!

Friendly Marauders and Nanocaust give the player AIP when they cause it. I believe this was intentional?

The only exception is if you Hack a Nanocaust to be friendly, in which case it will still grant AIP to itself.

Oh, okay, that I guess does make sense. They are basically an ally to you, so an extension of you. I guess in those cases we need to make it still grant the scouting intel. I'm not sure where in the code it's doing the AIP transfer stuff at the moment, so Badger if you see this and have time to swing in and add those brief lines, then that's appreciated. But no rush, feels like.

If a friendly minor faction takes out and AI planet, you now get scouting for it
