Description | Hey Puffin, I thought I'd toss this your way, but feel free to toss it back. Essentially these things can really get very strobe-like and really make battles un-watchable. There's no real good reason for that. Maybe grenade launchers are actually okay, since they are not quite so bright, but definitely tesla things need the change I think. I'm thinking here about basically having all the tesla caps reduced to 1/5 of their current volume, make their range... I dunno, maybe keep it the same for now so it's not more overwhelming but just hits things hard in there? And make it so that the tesla ships themselves are visually larger, in terms of footprint of themselves and the model I mean. 3x or 5x larger? That just makes it clear at a glance why they are so powerful, is the idea. I also wonder about taking these out of the AI's things-it-can-use when it comes to turrets and strikecraft and frigates in particular, and leaving it as a guardians-only thing on their end. That way this will continue to serve as an anti-stack thing for the player, and the AI isn't throwing off these giant AOE things quite so often and strobing us for no reason. The guardians are unique so may as well stay. None of that is gospel, it's just kind of a direction I've been musing for them for a while. | ||||

Alrighty then, I'll look into this. I would include Grenade units - I have noticed that the radius of their attacks is rather low these days, and hits no where near as many things as it should. I'll try to fix them up in a nice way visually, while hopefully...fixing that. Both Grenade and Tesla units I believe fire much faster than their Classic incarnations. I'll try doing something like...halving Tesla reload time, halving the count (so 1/4th as many effects) then shifting damage and targets hit around. Turns out these things don't even have stack bonuses either. |

Changes have been made. Should be about 1/4th the Tesla effects, and a bit over half the Grenade effects. Simple enough to change it more later. |
