Summary0021301: Suggestion: XP Penalties for various things
DescriptionTwo suggestions for XP penalties, because as it is it's way too easy to get an Mk 7 ship at the very start of the game (10 minutes in if you speed run it):

1. Having more than one centerpiece on a planet gives diminishing returns on XP. If it's not already there, fleets should split XP and not multiply it. Maybe something like 15% of total XP is lost for every fleet after the first, multiplicative (100% -> 85% (43% per fleet) -> 72% (24% per fleet) -> 61% (15% per fleet)

2. Some kind of penalty based on the relative mark levels of the enemy killed and the average fleet ship mark of the fleet. I don't know how I feel about this one though, as it can seem like a cruel punishment for using a mechanic in the game, disincentivising teching up fleets early to try to get more fleet XP at the start. That said, being able to go from Mk 5 to Mk 6 just by crushing a local Mk 1 AI planet is a bit insane (which seems to net about 5-6k XP, level 8 AI).

Also my hot take on XP, early levels seem way too easy to obtain. Killing 2 Mk 1 planets is enough to get the starter fleet to level 2 XP.
