DescriptionSo, to my knowledge, the way the new scouting works is that it grants intel to every planet adjacent to all planets with intel as soon as you destroy a command station. In the case of an X-type galaxy, this means the very first command station you destroy will grant intel on every single planet in the galaxy (since you start off knowing everything two hops out).
This really seems like a huge balance issue, and I believe it shows that on the surface the new scouting seems nice at first; then it turns out to be way too trivial on many map types. I think randomly scouting just a small number of planets at max each time would be a lil better? At least having a hard limit on how many can be scouted in one go would be an improvement (59 at once is overkill). Attached is a save, just open it up and unpause.

* Added new setting to the Scouting section of the lobby options: Max Planets To Scout At Once
** Depending on the topography of your map, capturing a planet may cause a TON of planets to suddenly be revealed. Rather than this getting TOO crazy and showing you the whole map after you capture one planet, this lets it be more gradual. The default is 8.
** Ranges from 3 to 40.
** This is a good example of the new types of things we can do thanks to the Lobby Options tab, which we couldn't cleanly do before using the regular game settings (because of multiplayer sync, and the potential for abuse with mid-game changes, etc).
** Note that this is so far untested, so let us know if there are bugs.
