Description | It would be nice to have a more visible warning when the Threat Fleet manifests. I was hit with a 277 strength fleet seemingly from out of nowhere, when I was expecting a normal 20 or 30 strength attack. | ||||

Well, you do get a notification (in fact, your cursor is hovering over it). What did you have in mind? You should probably also have gotten a "Major incursion into our territory" voice line too. |

Klaxons. Sirens. Flashing Screens. Etc. It's a near game ending event without any warning, which isn't much fun. As far as I recall, I was scheduled for a normal 20 strength wave, then the extra 200 strength joined in. The 20 was run of the mill, but the extra 200 was a surprise. It's possibly also related to how the fleet strength built up on that version. I had 200 strength of enemy ships sitting around next to my planets for most of the game without ever attacking. Them suddenly attacking out of the blue, was weird and unexpected. I have a save 30 minutes before the attack and can probably recreate the event if that would help. |

Yeah, if you can give previous save to see why the 200 strength was just sitting around that would be useful |

My save history isn't continuous, but I might have enough. snipe - 60-90 minutes before the major invasion. wheredidthiscomefrom - Post invasion alttimeline - my attempt to recreate pre-invasion status from the snipe save The new version changed many of the numbers going into this, but perhaps these are still useful. |

The AI will really prefer to have its Threat go for your Home Command Station. So the AI was just accumulating Threat against your home command station (in alttimeline I see 100+ threat waiting on it). However, you have that planet very heavily fortified, so it was just continuing to build up. There's also a random component that allows the AI to "sometimes" go for a different target. So I think the AI just built up a giant Threat force against your home planet, then struck an alternate target "at random" sometime down the road. There's no bug here, but perhaps the AI should be smart enough to say "Well, your home planet is much much stronger than other potential targets, so lets take out the rest of your planets first then kill your home". |

I've made some updates to AI threat fleet behaviour thanks to this Save Game. Thanks! |

The Threat Fleet will now be more proactive about finding new targets, rather than just piling up endlessly on your homeworld. This should make it harder for the scenario you've encountered to happen. I'm sure more changes will need to be made down the road though. |
