Summary | 0020626: Some thoughts as I played - Copy/Paste from Steam (As suggested) + More
Description | Hello! I'm copy/pasting some notes I had from earlier this afternoon and last night of playing, at Dominus' suggestion in my steam thread. I only copied the actual suggestions in order to shorten the post length somewhat. Also, I've added a bug that I noticed this afternoon, that I'll update if I come to understand it any better. Some things I've keep thinking to myself, in no particular order, and I apologize that I am unable to properly organize my thoughts. This may appear like a wishlist, but really it's just thoughts I have during play. It's a bit annoying to have to zoom in on the galaxy map for the quick sight icons to appear. I find myself relying on the strength indicators to tell me where I have ships, where I have fortifications, and where the enemy weak points/key objectives are. I wish I could see those numbers when I'm zoomed out further! Today I learned from another thread, with a great AAR about his 4th game (which resulted in a grind as he fought bravely to defend his planets but as a result he couldn't push at all) that you can bring a hacker to an enemy planet to hack the science off it without taking it! I don't recall this being mentioned anywhere? I definitely did the tutorial, but I had no idea! Solid chance I completely missed it, but I did check the tooltips again for hack points and the hacker itself, including the detailed one, and I couldn't glean that =/ But MAN what a helpful thing, until now I've been having to conquer less than ideal planets just so I can get the science to keep pushing into even more heavily fortified planets. Another little result of this is that I'm now checking the other side tabs more frequently.. I should really learn all the hotkeys for them, beyond B and F. I also noticed some strangeness with my mouse this afternoon, on the Galaxy Map. Some of the planets wouldn't highlight or accept orders, and I realized that if I offset my mouse (usually up and a little to the right) it would highlight the planet, almost as if the "box" for the planet was in the wrong place, offset. I hope this makes sense!

Noticed something else worth mentioning. While using shift or alt to quickly select/deselect my ships, if I selected 2 too quickly, the game registers it as a double click, selecting/deselecting all units of that type. Makes it a bit tough to quickly deselect a few units from a group, like starships you need to move elsewhere. |
