Description | Having watched a few hours now on marauders' desperate attempt to colonize an ex-AI planet. They flock around the edges of the system but the cloaked AI sits still somewhere in the middle. This makes the marauders to keep on pushing fleets in that system, which is right now 657 in strength, but they won't colonize it because of that one cloaked AI they just HAVE to neutralize! So I was watching the AI threat meter and started worrying when it rose from 200 to 300 and above. Until I realized it takes all threat into account not just the AI's. So the threat is up to 1.3K now. Are marauders actually supposed to be that strong or is this a bug? The first planet they colonized has a guard strength rating of whopping 3.1K now! I'm a bit worried... But I guess they attack through the "borders" of any system anyhow and never use wormholes? The marauders' threat strength should be orange on planet Corvus, the same color as everywhere else but here it's shown in yellow. | ||||

* Adds a short range Tachyon system to Marauder Raiders - currently they have no means of detecting AI cloaked ships hiding on a planet, and thus wouldn't actually capture it. Hopefully this means as they attack, they'll happen to snag any. ** Thanks to Kasslerkryssi for reporting the baffled Marauders. Thanks! I set this to Feedback since this doesn't fix the behaviour directly, but instead lets the Marauders actually reveal the cloaked stuff. They...do seem to be a bit strong, I'll take a look at that. As for the borders, their..."normal" attacks do that, to planets they think they can take, while Outposts spawn those Raider ships and attack using Wormholes. |

Oh ok thank you for clearing up the marauders behavior for me! Nice to see these bugs getting sorted out. :) Now I'm getting a bit worried about those 2k raider starships close to my bases... haha! |

Seems to be a bug in some parts - there are far more Raider Starships than the Outposts can allow, and the super guarded planet also has far more drones defending it than Outposts can allow. Curiously, it's just that one planet. The others are fine. |

I've been playing this save a little longer now and let the marauders colonize a few more systems, and it seems that some systems defenses are left pretty light. But there is one more that is growing pretty fast I think. I paused the game to take a screenshot when "Jubbul" system had a guard strength of 93, four minutes later their strength has arisen to 129. I think I've put marauders' intensity to 7 by the way. |

Even intensity 10 shouldn't be spawning as much as what you're seeing. Doesn't really seem like an XML thing, but I've got a test game going, see if they do it there. |
