Summary | 0020544: Profile Default Colors do not apply to saved game
Description | I decided that my initial color combinations for my profile were too dark. I changed the default colors to lighter colors and the changes did not take effect. I created a new game and the changes I made to the default color were visible. I exited that new game and loaded my older saved game and my first default colors were still visible. Restarting the game has no effect, nor does changing the default colors, loading the saved game, saving the game again, and then exiting and reloading the game. Also, the color profile I chose was a dark blue fill with a yellow border. When I am on the galaxy view, text has a dark blue fill but the border is black, which is why I want to change my colors. The new color defaults I chose was a yellow fill with a blue border. When I started a new game and looked at the galaxy view, the planet names were in yellow but still with a black border. Not sure if this intended or also a bug. I included my save file though I am not sure if it is necessary.

I think allowing the player to change faction colours (including their own) in game has no downside except the UI creation time, and a lot of potential upside; imagine the person who accidentally made the AI and Nanocaust the same colour and didn't notice till they were 2 hours into the game. |

Your opinion, Chris? |

Yep, I think that it would be good to do. Having a quickie option in the settings menu that just says "overwrite my faction color with my profile color" would be a quick fix for this specific issue, though. I'll tackle that one today, since that should be easy. |

It is working as intended that it doesn't apply to existing savegames, but as of the next version (2.030), you can now change the colors of any and all factions in a savegame at any time. So you can make it match up if you want. You just go into the escape / system menu, and hit View / Edit Factions, and choose the faction you want. Thanks! |
