Summary | 0020363: Can't escape in-game menu except save/load and quit
Description | I click escape and it stays there. The options work, but I can't make it go away. This is after a full reinstall. Can't show a screenshot (it's just the in-game menu) and the debug log isn't showing anything.

What happened before this condition was hit? How can this be reproduced? This will be really hard to debug without a reproduction scenario |
Just press "Esc" in the game. No matter game settings or gametime. After first "Esc", second "Esc" will not back you in the game. You need make save and has left from the game. |

I don't recall anything out of the ordinary happening. I went to bed and when I booted it up the next morning, it was glitched. I then proceeded to reinstall it twice (scrubbed everything Ai war 2 off my computer) and it still happens. |
Oh, now that I think about it, I reinstalled because of a hidden file or something was causing an error on startup. So I reinstalled and it glitched. Can't say the same for Hearthunter, unless he also reinstalled it. |
I tryed look code and change a few numbers. I broke the game, and so reinstalled game too. |
Workaround: hit the backspace key. Sorry about this, but thank you so much for finding it! |
Thank you! It was extremely frustrating to not be able to exit the settings menu. |
Oh lol. Thank you. |
No problem. And a huge thanks to you for finding this! * Fixed an issue where, in fresh installs of the game, the escape key would not work for closing the in-game menu. No idea how long that has been going on, but it's one of those "how did that ever work?" situations. Basically it WAS closing it, but then immediately checking if it should open it again thanks to some keybinding confusion. Apparently at one point in the past, a triple-negative made a positive (which is correct, but... ugh). |
