Description | Think this is why Shredders can't be bought twice - the Cutlasses are the primary unit and are being killed, so the game disables the group from being purchasable again. "If the Primary Unit survives it can be summoned 2 times." I think this means you can never buy the second group of groups that donate to you either? Since the ships are permanently yours, and won't warp out, it just never lets you buy it again. | ||||

If the Primary units in a merc group die then yeah, you can't summon it again. This makes Mercenaries a scarce resource and not one to be wasted. If you want to have mercenaries give units to the player, those really should not have time restrictions and should be "summon once", since you correctly observe it won't do what you want otherwise. |

Fair enough Badger. I had *just* uploaded a new version of them, but due to your reasoning here I just put them to summon once. |

I added a "primary_unit_must_survive_to_rehire" tag to the mercenary XML, which should alleviate this problem. |
