Can confirm, units will happily hug enemies but will kite whatever they're shooting. Doesn't have to be a player order. |

Can you clarify what you mean? They'll hug enemies in what sense? They're only kiting what they are shooting at, and really any logic to try and kite groups would be insanely CPU-intensive. 1) Are they sometimes not kiting something they are auto-targeting, is that the issue? 2) Or are they always kiting their target (from whatever source), but just not kiting non-targets? If 1, then I need to fix that. If 2, then that's just beyond the limits of what can be calculated within a reasonable CPU budget. |

Hug as in fly right up to them to shoot and kite a target behind. They're doing the second thing, so guess it's not fixable. |

Seems like 2, but not sure. if units will choose like attack target most close enemy ships, it will seems, like kite against all targets. And it will not destroy CPU(or will?). I remember, that ai war 1 had about perfect kite. Total: I mean kite against most close enemy with+increase range of autokite. |

Got it, preferring closer targets ought to help a lot there. |

Update 0,768 Looks like units trying auto-kite, but not most close units. Its looks like, human ships calculate how many units enemy have and divide them for everyone, so they fly around the enemy ships, like Earth around the Sun : D So, in real, units maximum deep in the enemy forces. Screens 1,2,3,4. And auto-kite range not good(about 3000-2800 attack range). They fly very close around the world(enemy) |

Any updates, plus a savegame in 0.850 or later? |

Seems a lot of better, i will test more, when get access to more ships. |
