Description | Keith: I'm working through the various exotic and/or not-completely implemented shot types. First up, standard lasers. Attached is a test-chamber save with 10 squads of laser gatlings in range of an AI Assault Flagship (it's not in range of them). An AI Shield Flagship is also nearby (out of gatling range) for testing that side of the animation. Observations: 1) Many of the gatlings do show a reasonable firing animation. 2) Most of the "fire" animation is actually being drawn between gatlings in the same squad. In other words it looks like they're shooting each other. 3) When I get in range of the Shield Starship the shield effect lights up properly (and energetically, it's a lot of shots) but most of the lines are not drawn. I don't know if they're going between gatlings or just not animating properly because of the shield. | ||||

Is this still an issue? I thought it got fixed in my last round of changes |

I think it's about me needing to draw lines, more than anything else. The actual firing bits that were buggy you did fix, to my knowledge, yes -- I'm not aware of any cases where they still do it. But these are supposed to be more line-based rather than projectile-based, and that was a me-thing. His email had one bit for you and one for me, and the above text has probably munged in a bit of yours still, but it's all good. :) |

* The visuals for the various types of beams (tractor, tachyon, repair, claim) have all been redone to look nicer, and the beam weapon effects for conical and individual beam weapons are also now in place. Finally, you can actually see your beam weapons! And it looks cool! |
