Description | Alright, playing around with the new spire special ships and took a blade spawner. Then immediately powered it down to stop the incessant death sound effect from the blades dying. Or they could not spawn blades if there's no enemies in the system or something I guess, but something has to be done, the death sound effect every couple seconds gets annoying fast. | ||||

Odd, now they are not spawning blades all the time. More details to follow once I work this out. Edit: Oh, looks like they are spawning, but not attacking if there's a hostile non-autotarget such as a Train Station in the system. |

They do only spawn if there are enemies in the system. |

I agree that the spawned blades should not play a death sound. |

I'm fairly sure mine have been spawning with no enemies in the system. But agreed, was just coming on here to make this sound issue myself. |

Maybe there were some cloaked enemies? |

I'm pretty certain they spawn regardless of an enemy presence. EDIT: Only sometimes, as it seems. I saw that it spawns its blades when it is first built. |

One of the other guys says that the blades seem to spawn if the planet has a "subspace signal" on it. I think those must be counted as an enemy for spawning purposes. |

Yep, I just started a game with this as bonus ship, and they are constantly building. The constant explosion death sound is rather annoying and distracts from knowing when ships you don't expect to immediately die are dying. |

Yeah--I would just recommend that the death sound be removed. |

Whoops! I made a duplicate :( I'd either like the death sound removed OR have a much softer death noise. The hiss of falling sand for instance as the temporary construct disintegrates. |
