Description | When trying to build command stations, tooltip says : Cannot Place: Cannot Build At This Spot, Must Be Close To Required unit. Happens with all command stations, on different saves, new games, all of that to 5 players. Multiplayer save with issue included. | ||||

They need to be built close to the colony ship now. EDIT: I think the range is 2000. |

Alright, I guess we all tried all zoomed out a lot because we couldn't get it to work. I had totally forgot about the change, and so we did. Oh well. |

This was really confusing for me at first, also. I still don't understand why this was changed in the first place, but it'd be nice if the colony ship just automatically moved closer enough to the build spot rather than just saying it can't do it when it's an inch too far. |

0001207 has asked for the move to build point ability. |

To clarify, it was changed to the status quo to prevent colony ships from being tucked away safely at a planet's edge for Comm Station revival at no risk to the colony. 0001207 should fix that right up, though! |

Oh good, I had been wanting to deal with this (a related record being at the top of the vote tallies and all) before the official but the ideas that came to mind didn't sound safe for implementing that close to an official ;) The new solution sounds great :) |

I'd been planning something for a while, having seen that on the vote tallies myself, but this new idea just struck me tonight. It occurred to me when I realized that having mobile builders sitting around was just as bad as having a colony ship already built, so the distance-limiting thing was pointless in the first place. I'm happy about the new one. :) |
