Summary | 0009816: Some AI Craft perfectly follow cloaked human starships on their planet without firing or any sort of giveaway
Description | In my new campaign (which I specifically made to avoid the Dark Spire, but that's a separate thing) I have made extensive use of stealth raiding to try and destroy the AI Peacemaker's numerous Ion Cannons and Orbital Mass Drivers. Upon one of these raids, however, it seems a number of defensive AI craft know exactly where my stealth battlegroup is without them being revealed. This can be seen in action in the included save. Given that all of the ships are presently under cloaker starship fields and no AI tachyon is nearby, I have no clue what might be behind this. It's obvious that the AI wants to path its ships to my battlegroup, but the "stuttering" movement this produces is very unusual and is something I haven't experienced elsewhere.

If this is anything like what I believe it is, the same behaviour occurs when utilizing Jumpships and "piling in" all units. The Special Forces that are on the planet occasionally stutter-step to the last place on the planet they spotted my ships. If they're accurately following stealth units around though whilst stutter stepping, it suggests something else could be up. |

That's exactly what is happening- they start moving towards where they re-cloaked after firing, but afterwards never stop tracking them (so long as they remain in-system). I have noticed this in previous versions, too (5.000) but didn't bother to report it at that time. |
