Summary | 0000976: Selection box besides selecting units is working equal to C (solved)
Description | The selection box here is working in a very similiar way to C. Wherever I use it, even when I select nothing very far away from my planet it will center the camera near crystal fields. In planets with no crystal, it is not happening. v4.022 on steam Problem was being caused by a translate selection option in LingoES translator.

Can you verify that you have no other applications running that could modify keyboard/mouse behavior. Selection box is quite normal for me... mark empty space and it doesn't do anything. Maybe you have something in the error logs in RuntimeData directory? |
I have no reason to believe that it is an application interfering because it is not happening in planets with no crystal. My Unhandlederrors.txt on RuntimeData is pretty full. I attached the file. As far as I can remember, I think it has always happened in my steam version. I'm downloading the independent game to test. |

The same error is occurring in the version independent from steam. Maybe it is something related to Windows 7 64bits. |
planets without crystal dont react when you press c... |
Oh, genius. This just shows the fact that my stupid selection box for some reason is working like C, in planets without crystal it is working as intended... |
you are sure you havent anything in the background modifying the mouse? I used to run a mouse gestures program that I occasionally had issues with, for instance. |
I'm not running anything modifying the mouse. |
ok, well - SOMETHING is reading mouse clicks and pressing keyboard 'c' a workaround would be to simply disable snap to crystal spot in the key settings, so it doesnt happen, but thats at best a workaround. Dont take this the wrong way, but are you SURE you can account for everything running in task manager, that its not causing erroneous keystrokes? if you start the PC in safe mode, does it still occur? |
After all, taking a better look and closing tray applications, I found out what was causing it. LingoES translator was with an option to translate selection on and for some reason it was causing this strange behavior. Sorry for the inconvenience and thanks. |
Very glad to hear it's working well now :) And thanks for letting us know what it was, if anyone else has something like this we'll know what to ask them. |
