Summary | 0009670: Teleporting and Group Move
Description | While I did, and still do, agree that when with a group that teleporting units should always try and stay with the group, my current game revealed what I feel is a minor annoyance with the new setup. I use the global "Default to Group Move" since I use starships and they all move at differing paces. But I recently found that with that global turned on, ALL teleporting units stop teleporting if given a move order. Due to this, whenever I give orders to my MKIII Engineers, I have to turn the global off or they will use normal movement to get to where I am ordering them to go, even though I am ONLY sending the MKIIIs and nothing else. Perhaps a minor change so that when teleporting units are the only things in a group, they will teleport rather than use normal engines?

Someone already mantised this, and there's already a change in for the next version that makes group-move orders to all-teleporter selections ignore the group-move flag. FYI, in the current version if you have global-group-move on you can just hold G while giving an order to suppress the group-move behavior. All global-group-move has ever done (iirc) is invert what G does. |
