Summary0000960: Guardians not immune to insta-kills?
DescriptionIs it an oversight or by design that guardians aren't immune to insta-kills like most other big things are (i.e. starships and structures)? It just feels a bit... odd that ion cannons chomp them up just as fine as the smaller ships.

It was originally by design, but only for the lower-level ones. I felt like if you wanted to nuke a mark II planet, etc, you shouldn't have guardians coming after you. Of course, you're right that it is a bit odd and inconsistent, so perhaps it should be changed. I'm curious in the thoughts of folks.

If there's a way to differentiate between single instakills (ion cannons) and multiple instakills (nuke), that'd probably be the best. That way, the above can also be extended to low-level starships (and perhaps a few other things currently immune to instakills, like science stations).

I'm not sure what I think about this, honestly. It's extremely conventient that the Guardians act like starships to the Devourer (that is, it kills them), but it's rather inconsistent that it acts like a fleet ship to an Ion cannon.

Good point, the capability was already there. Nuke != insta-kill. For the next one:

* All guardians are now immune to being insta-killed.
