Summary | 0009572: Annihilator heavy antimatter weapon | ||||
Description | The Annihilator is a slow shooter, not terribly long ranged either. However its antimatter weapon is extremely scalable and it has a high volume link to the human power grid to power that weapon. As a result it deals damage equal (or proportional) to the energy surplus of its owner. The unit is not available to the AI for obvious reasons. Anti-matter ammo makes it unsuitable for breaching heavy force fields but it will do a number on heavy fortifications due to its raw damage output. A high-powered Annihilator would be rather terrifying but maintaining a large energy surplus just for one unit type comes with drawbacks. | ||||

My response to this is exactly the same as the other one - This does not fix the problem, it makes people complain about the problem less. |

It wasn't supposed to fix anything, just act as another possible bonus unit. In fact it's based on the assumption that maintaining a large energy surplus is difficult. |
