Summary | 0009569: CTRL: Avoid damage reducing FFs
Description | A control that, when enabled, makes your military ships try not to be under a forcefield with the 75% damage reduction. Ships whose explicit target location (rally point, move command) is inside a forcefield will not avoid FFs but any ship that's just taking up a location on the far side of a wormhole or just came out of a factory or is resolving collision with allied ships will not settle down inside a forcefield. Usually the FFs are just meant for high-value items, not for every fleet ship to hide under and the damage reduction is extremely limiting as well so ships are normally supposed to stay outside the forcefield. This is mostly for cases like ships that enter through a wormhole that's covered by an FF, they shouldn't stay under the field.

Maybe this should be default behavior for FRD military ships. This gives you easy tactical control over whether they stay under forcefields or not, without having to open the CTRL window in the middle of a fight to change gears. |

Yea, if this is an option, IMO, it should be checked by default. This is assuming of course that it is possible to implement this in a way that doesn't kill performance. And as mentioned, this should be for military ships only. |
