Summary | 0009334: AI Zenith Medical Frigates should not beeline towards command stations when the other ships are not
Description | Right now, Zenith Medical frigates in AI hands seem to think they are some type of bomber unit, as they try to rush the command station rather than hang back and, you know, repair stuff other fleet ships, their whole purpose. This is especially noticeable as the medic frigates are immune to tractor beams.

Actually, this sort of thing is a problem with most tractor immune stuff in AI hands. As many fleet ships that are immune to tractor beams are raider style ships, this isn't a huge deal normally. But Zenith Medical Frigates are most certainly not raiding style ships. ;) |

Hmm, it doesn't have the flag for charging command stations, so that's not it. Can you attach a save where this is about to happen? Probably just before a wave with the medic frigates is about to arrive, and the frigates reliably charge the CC. |

Should be pretty easy to reproduce. Every wave so far that has medical frigates in them has demonstrated this so far. I'll have to wait until I get home though this evening. If someone else can upload a save reproducing this earlier than that, it would be appreciated. |

Here you go. In Wave Inbound, the wave that arrives should have some medical frigates in it, which will rush on ahead even when the rest of the wave is caught in tractor beam turrets. (You'll also possibly see some starships doing so, even those now no longer flagged to rush the command station) Interestingly, I think this may be tied to the "underestimating turret firepower" thing, as when I bring in my attack force (but tuck them away in a corner of the planet where they won't destroy the incoming wave really quickly) the medical frigates (and starship) start acting much more like the rest of the ships. EDIT: It may also be worth noting that I don't usually have this many resources this early in the game. For these saves though, I deliberately stopped my normal play (which would of kept my funds down more) to simply wait for a good wave to come in. |
