Description | Ships that are at 0 engine health are at 0 speed. I'm pretty sure that for many, many versions, 0 engine health and a base speed > 0 meant effective speed of 1. Now, it could be argued that having 0 engine health means 0 speed (which is the behavior in the 3.x days) may be good for the game to go back to. In the save game attached, there are a few enemy MRLSs on CORE 1 at 0 engine health with 0 speed. Pause quickly, as my defenses are likely to kill them pretty quick. | ||||

On second thought, this may be a rounding issue due to the ludicrous number of speed reduction things I have on those wormholes; 0 Engine health, grav turrets, and logistics command stations, as some of my ships at 0 engine health have 1 speed as they are supposed to. |

Watch the wave of bombers come in from the Wepsamu wormhole on CORE 1. I slowed down game speed and you can see the same thing happening there. What it looks like to me is that the bombers come in stacked on top of each other and get tractor beam snared. The game then separates the stack and then you can see the 0% EH and 0 speed. Of interesting note, at the Afrslov wormhole, there are tractor beamed missile frigates showing 22 speed while in the grav turrets range (seen at the very beginning of the save). |
