Summary0009159: Leech / Zombie Turret
DescriptionOne thing I feel is severely missing from this game is we have leech ships, leech starships, even leech golems of sorts in the form of the botnet golem albeit the golems leeched result is zombies. But no leech defenses which given the fact that when the AI sends ships in overwhelming numbers why can&t I get a few prizes out of the debris.

What I suggest is a turret with a low cap, high cost. Which essentially works in a similar way to a Botnet Golem. The defence here would be that instead of simply blowing up a fleet it is reversed and sent back as a zombie fleet providing an instant and automated counter attack.

If the ratio of capture to destruction is balanced correctly given that only really the weaker ships are captured this at certainly later stages of the game is not going significantly be a game changer in terms of the number of captured ships becoming overwhelming for the AI. But it would certainly make a more interesting defensive line. To watch the enemy fleets be hindered by what they sent at the base.

so if i hear you right you want something similair to the old leech starships that puts reclamation damage on a lot of things.... problem is that it could do that but would have to have lousy damage or else it would overpower all other defenses. not to mention are you willing to pay say 7k knowledge to unlock it?

honestly i would prefer a more ion cannon feel type unit unlock. has reclaimation damage but hits for like 2 million and fires say 15 seconds with a unit cap of say 10. would pick off individual things but would be unable to stop a wave alone.

Yeah that's kind of what I was after something that's tough to get. Is powerful on a small scale as you say motai like an ion cannon. Maybe however not reclaim ships like a leecher but zombify like a botnet or even do both through the use of marks highest mark actually gives you control of the ship but it costs a hell of a lot of research at that point.

Probably not 15 second reload unless it was capable of firing at multiple ships in a shot as that would mean all you would be getting is a tiny ship every 15 seconds which would be pointless chances are in the middle of a battle anything reclaimed would be blown up in milliseconds but say either have a 2 second reload or make a long reload worth it.
