Summary | 0009033: Use Common Resources for Crafting Guardian Scrolls
Description | So I've noticed that I have a few hundred of the common crafting resources (granite, wood, copper, etc), and don't even bother picking them up any more. One idea I had is that you could use the resources to create buildings (e.g. citybuilding!). This would provide a third avenue to getting the Guardian Scrolls (the others being missions and shards). Say, wind shelters could be made from wood, etc. These could include +NPC skill buildings (aquamancy, lumbermancy, etc), the town backround buildings (city hall, sentry tower, apartments), or the world map buildings (buoy, wind shelter).

I like the idea in theory, but I'm a little worried about the possibility that if everything can be bought/crafted in multiple ways then you end up "skipping" multiple levels in that you only need to attack one lieutenant after the other. This already happens with the auto-leveling spells if the RNG is kind enough to put lieutenants close together. |
I could see this working if it was a LOT of said materials, numbers like 250 Lumber, 150 Granite, 150 Quartz, etc. for ONE building (not necessarily all of these ingredients just for one building, just giving examples), as when you're looking for the more uncommon ingredients you can easily (and often do) get an insane number of these much more common ingredients. |
I was also thinking of 100-300 of two to three types to build something. It would be a lot of griding to build everything that way, but a couple of buildings per continent would be reasonable without changing playstyle. |
I'm not sure that buying buildings is necessarily the way to go. It would be a nice way to reintroduce the (removed) buff scrolls, though (the ones that have +whatever for 10 minutes), and wouldn't throw progress out of whack. |
