Description | Currently, the oceans only have two bosses (And only one if you're in Shallows.). No doubt plans are already in the works for new bosses for these areas, but I shall throw out ideas that don't require new art assets. Water Cyclone - Much like the Fire Cyclone boss, but has a more 'bullet hell' feeling with many tidal pulse-like attacks. Spawn of Thulu - A large Nightmare octopus, maybe fires 'creeping death' like shots while being surrounded by a shield of insanity shards that break upon impact. (Either fast attacks or cleaving attacks are a must here.) Water Sprite - Can't believe I'm saying this but... A Blue Fairy... So long as it's not common it'll be fine! Maybe give it a different attack than fairy spam to liven things up. Aquatic Horror - An aquatic giant gargan for art assets. Perhaps it can use a variation of the insect orbs its land-based cousin uses. | ||||

I like the idea of adding bosses that don't require new art assets. Most of your boss ideas seem pretty good, too. * What's wrong with Blue Faeries? Do you want to make them scarce because players with controllers can have a hard time with them? * I'm wondering if a 'bullet hell' experience would be too tricky underwater. Remember that mobility is harder (or at least "different") underwater; you can't reliably place platforms or crates, and you fall slower (unless you're a skelebot). |
