Summary | 0008882: Exterior indication of stash contents
Description | Since stashes now contain several kinds of important things it is difficult to find anything specific without a lot of luck. I suggest showing at a building entrance either directly a major item from stashes inside, or splitting stashes into types with different item distributions and showing those types. This would make the exploration a bit more focused on the region itself. Right now I am either stormdash-jumping over the region chunks looking for secret mission chunk, or checking all building stashes one by one. In the latter case for region types with a lot of buildings I usually stop after two or three chunks. In both cases most of the region chunks are never really explored as such.

In my opinion, divulging the content of stash rooms before even entering the building would detract from the sense of exploration, anticipation, and discovery of finding them. Maybe certain types of buildings could be more likely to contain certain types of loot? Residential type buildings may contain personal items (such as books and gifts), while storage type buildings may contain stockpile type items like crates, scrolls, etc.? |
That is why I suggested showing only a major item, singular, presumably always excluding rarity orbs, which would always be a bonus, and so on. If you are exploring for exploration, the you would check out the whole stash anyway. At least for certain player personalities (like mine), if you are looking for something specific, the anticipation is rapidly becoming a frustration, and it becomes easier to just grind shards because at least that has predictable results. |

I agree with the grindy aspects associated with books and gifts; I dislike that as well |
I dunno, I think this would take away some of the fun in exploring, wouldn't it? |
It would shift some emphasis from exploring buildings to exploring exterior chunks searching for a right building, I don't know if that is necessarily less fun. And even if that was the case I really think searching for specific stash items needs to be less tedious. |
