Description | Sometimes, my ships will autotarget wormhole guard posts, even though I never gave it the explicit command to. This seems to happen most often to ships that the wormhole guard post took a shot at, though often times, other ships will "join in" and start attacking it to once this happens. Not a huge deal, but still annoying. | ||||

Hmmm. I may have noticed this or it may be coincidental but I'll sometimes see this after giving units a move order to a wormhole but I've always assumed I just happened to be over top of the guard post and so gave an 'attack' rather then a 'move' order when I did. I've never seen it on the far side of a wormhole after giving a "go through wormhole" order. My experiences for what it's worth. |

Actually, I think this may apply for other "you shouldn't auto attack this, even if it fires on you" structures as well, INCLUDING ONES THAT RAISE AIP. I recently had a neinzul nest get auto targeted, even though it increases AIP on death. |

I think I finally found the key to this issue, attack-move. Attack-move your units near (not on) a wormhole guard post, and the unit the wormhole guard post attacks (and sometimes a few units like it near it) seems to have a decent chance of retaliating and returning fire. I will need to test if this holds for other armed AIP structures too. See attached save for a situation I managed to reproduce it with. |

Yep, the attack-move seems to reliably reproduce this, not only with wormhole guard posts, but other AIP increasing armed structures (like special forces posts) I managed to reproduce this by group moving a bomber starship [i]near[/i] a special forces guard post, and it started firing upon the SFGP on its own. |

For 5.095: * Fixed a longstanding bug where attack-move units with no other orders would auto-target stuff that should not be auto-targeted (wormhole guard posts, AIP-on-death structures, etc) if the unit in question shot them first. Thanks :) |
