Product Version1.103 (Official Hotfix)
Summary0008654: Terraformers
Description* Found only in stashes. Available in all regions, but fairly rare - on a "normal" playthrough, you should get 2 - 3 of these per continent on average.
* Multiple versions, one for each region type. (Subregions such as Grasslands With Groves) are treated as a seperate region type for this.) Each version only appears in its own region type.
* This item can only be used in the final surface chunk of a non-windstorm surface tile. (Fluff-wise, this is to allow the terraformer to "see" what it has to terraform. Mechanically, this is so a terraformer can't be used just to skip more difficult regions.)
* On use, the item warps you to your settlement on the continent map (similar to elusion scrolls). On the continent map, the tile it was used in plus the four adjacent tiles become a "turmoil" region. Some tiles are immune to being turned into "turmoil" - these are your settlement, lieutenant towers, overlord lairs and ocean ports. (Wind shelters and ocean buoys can be turned into turmoil, but they are destroyed and their benefits lost with them.) Ocean tiles may also become turmoil as long as it does not landlock an ocean port - if it would, the item use fails (and the item is not consumed.)
* Turmoil cannot be entered (the same as turbulent ocean tiles.) Missions may not appear in turmoil, and any missions in the tile already present are lost when the tile becomes turmoil.
* On the death of an overlord or lieutenant, all turmoil tiles turn into tiles of the same region type as the terraformer that originally turned them into turmoil. (Fluff-wise, this is a combination of the terraformer needing time and the overlord's forces being too distracted at that point to stop the terraforming. Mechanically, this is so there is a strategic decision to make in losing access to the tiles for a time in return for preferable tiles later on.)

The main uses intended for this item would be:-
* Countering when the RNG hates you (since you can "rebalance" the available region types.)
* Ensuring plentiful supply of ingredients you want (since having an abundance of regions that produce that ingredient increases the chances of getting a mission giving it.)
* Partial (but not total) alternative to ocean buoys via using terraformers to build land bridges. (They will cover more ground per item, and provide more useful land on the way, but the time delay, rarity and landlock prevention combine to make sure they won't obsolete buoys.)

Very interesting idea. It should affect only the overworld tile it i used in, for better control. And region types should only be allowed to be terraformed if the region type has at least X tiles remaining on the continent after terraforming. X would be the minimum number that is integrated in the continent generator since somewhen shortly before v1.1

And I dislike the lieutenant/overlord idea, it does not fit the lore. The different regions differ because they represent a different time of the world and the overlord is someone who has gained control of this shattered world and does not have the power to change the time periods. The real reason I dislike this is because I think its lame/boring and it would force you to do all the terraforming you want before you kill the overlord or the last minion of the dead overlord. I would suggest that you can enter the turmoil region (maybe call it chaos dimension or void or something to show that it is something like the empty/chaotic space between times (sounds weird)) and have to fight some ultra hardcore awesome bizarre boss, one that is (much) stronger than an overlord and has a unusual battle (maybe with scripted parts), maybe something that represents the essence of the time you want to replace ith a different one. That would be really cool but I imagine it would require much work, programming and first of all inventing it.
