Description | Not just too common, it actually seems like green/red fairies are the ONLY bosses spawning in caves whatsoever once they're unlocked. Previously I'd encounter things like shadow bats or amoebas or dragons, but for some time now, it's been nothing but green/red fairies. Only exception is the shallows, which are still all jellyfish as usual. It's a pretty minor thing and for all I know could be the RNG being a total snot, but it's been the case for awhile now, figured I'd mention it. | ||||

I suspect this is the RNG being annoying, since I still see variety in my bosses. However, it seems like adding an anti-repetition modification to the selection probabilities would help quite a lot (espescially since computer random tends not to look like human random, since human random tends to be repetition averse). I'd suggest something like throwing a -(90 - (30 * bosses since particular boss was last selected)% modifier to the generation chances of each boss (so it's very unlikely to get a boss twice in a row, and there's a reduced chance for the next two after that as well.) |

Some sort of "repetition avoidance" for "major enemy" selection might be worthwhile, but it most certainly should NOT be for the RNG in general. That would lead to even stranger things in the long run than leaving the RNG to be computer random. |

About all I have seen are runs when it has been fairies a few times in a row. In my current game (Continent 2 at T5) I can't say they appear any more often than the bosses available to me. |

I wouldn't mind so much, but their projectiles tend to get a bit annoying, making them stand out a lot more, and perhaps making them seem to appear more often. |

I don't think its just a "seems more often". I've had boss delves and I think it was a vortex mission, don't remember, but it was another with multiple bosses at once, where i'd get multiples of the fairies. I guess the normal 6 is it? count as a single boss to spawn. But I got the red fairies unlocked probably before anything else in my world simply because there were so many green fairies, and I've only seen a handful of shadow bats and, save for a boss delve where I got a rhino or bull, and a t-rex, I don't think I've seen any other "common" bosses. |

I haven't seen shadow bats or giant skelebots in a while. Everything is just fairies and giant clockwork wasps. I thought it was just the RNG but... |

I noticed that too, that I was seeing quite a ton of giant wasps; it took forever for me to find enough Skelebots for that one unlock, and that only needs 5 of them. I dont think I'd seen 5 till 3 continents in. But I'd seen a bazillion giant wasps. |

Yes, I've done a LOT of boss rooms in caves (about 15), and they're almost always multiple faeries. In fact, faeries are almost always the bosses in houses now too. Is it because I'm on the 1st Continent? I used to fight other bosses, but once I got to Continent Level 3, it's all faerie bosses all the time. |
