Summary | 0008568: Monster nests in Survivor missions can be pre-doused
Description | According to lavacamorada in 0008558, it's possible to place Monster Nest Dousers all over a recuse-survivor mission before releasing the survivor. This sounds incredibly cheap. I think the dousers should have to "attach" themselves to a nest, and disappear quickly if there is no nest nearby. This would also take care of my complaint in 0008241.

The douses have a limited duration, an only cover a certain area. So this strategy isn't foolproof. Now that you can place down the flare for survivor missions, you could just have them stay put while you double back and destroy all the spawners. Both strategies seem legit to me, the dousing one is faster, but more risky. |

Luminance Arc. Starting from the back, to be sure no spawners are behind you ever, using lots of light, run ahead and quickly take out every spawner you see, sometimes taking out two or three with one arc. Use your favorite melee for up-close or singular ones, to save your mp. Moving fast enough, no enemies get a chance to spawn for your survivor, who steadily keeps coming, without slowing down. Meanwhile, you fight very little, only the few at every few spawners, and can very quickly get through the whole thing, and wait by the door for the survivor to catch up. Dousing and flare both seem slow and a waste of time/effort in that case. Not OP in this case at all, imo. |

I feel placing dousers is a strategic choice. This is a choice that if not changed, doesn't seem to hurt anything. |

Not exactly what you asked for, but it's a minimal-chance-of-bugs solution for now: * The "Douse Monster Nest" ability is no longer usable in an NPC-rescue mission. Thanks :) |
