Description | I was thinking, it would be interesting to be able to build a mining/gathering facility in a region. What it does is after x amount of time, it adds 1 random common resource to your stock that area is able to generate? There are alternatives to this idea like specialised mines (Metal Mines, Lumber Mines, etc.), but i prefer the totally random mine idea. So what do you think? | ||||

It should not be related to time but to missions. Otherwise you could enter a chunk , become invincible until you move and go to bed, read a book or whatever. Or you cast Sunrise over and over again. Oh, maybe make it so that you cannot bild mines as part of the settlement but instead make it so you can upgrade former evil outposts to mines/factories/other resource producing facilities. And then the former Overlord lair should give more resources. The normal mines should be limited to resources of their specific area. The player should be able to choose the region type the overlord mine gathers resources from. If optional, high difficulty areas with special resources are introduced (something like the deep or even more challenging, with resources available ONLY in this region) those should not be an option for the overlord mine. The idea behind this would be that a player can move on to the next continent and then return after some time to upgrade the normal spells without a need for grind. |

Or perhaps like the wind shelter, make it into a mission. The mission is a long one, boosting tier up two ranks, even at T5, to T7, taking up many chunks, with plenty of bosses and powerful enemies, some puzzle elements (maybe using some of the new puzzle room ideas? don't know what they are yet), possibly even requiring a survivor in your settlement to perform, having them follow you to where the ilari build the structure, and protecting them there, then opening up a mining facility in the region, that collects a variety of materials available from the region. The materials collected would be random based on their own chances of being found, placing emphasis on building materials and common materials more than the rarer one, including jewels; perhaps there could even be a list to materials that outright cannot be collected (meteor shard). Unable to be purchased, or perhaps purchased at the same 20,000 cost as buildings, it would only be available after clearing Continent 4? Just some ideas. |

I like the idea of using "complete x missions" instead of time elapse to gain resources! Limitations on placement was something I thought about as well. I like the idea of converting a Lieutenant/Overlord region into a mining area (Survivors be looting his hidden stashes lol), or even something strategic like only being able to setup mines next to windmills. Distance from settlements could be used as another deciding factor on how one places these things. So the further away a mine is, the longer it takes to generate a resource (Missions completed to generate a resource = 1 per square away from the settlement). I think this combined with limiting placement next to windmills would give players something interesting to play around with. |
