Summary | 0008514: The Deep needs more monster variety indoors | ||||
Description | It appears that the only types of monsters that appear indoors in The Deep are miasma/entropic bats and Thul Heads, and the latter rarely have enough room to spawn. This means that buildings in The Deep generally contain lots and lots of miasma bats and not much else. A couple of ideas: * Rift Beast - Entropy-themed enemy. - A bizarre, otherworldly animal-like creature. - Moves along the ground and has a fairly strong jumping ability, similar to a Utahraptor. - Has a ranged sliding spell that causes damage upon hitting the player and also functions as a Lesser Teleport. If you're not careful, you could be running from one of these and suddenly find it in front of you. * Lightning Spirit - Air-themed enemy (with a slightly different concept, it could also be fire or entropy). - Vaguely humanoid, ghost-like creature. - Moves and attacks like a lightning esper. - Any background object it touches becomes temporarily charged with electrical energy, and launches lightning attacks at the player. | ||||

I like the idea of enemies interacting with the background objects, especially if it's an enemy you encounter frequently indoors. |

Utahraptors with projectiles? Fffffff The second one seems quite interesting though, as long as the effect doesn't last too long on indestructible objects and such. |

Right now the Miasma Bats seem like a joke, yeah there are a metric ton of them, but launch meteor is more than enough to take out a whole swarm of them. Something with a bit more heft would be nice. |

Rift Beast: I like this one; it sounds very Tindalosian, and so fits with the general theme. Lightning Spirit: I like the idea of background object interaction, but the theming seems a little off. Maybe go for a more Colour Out Of Space feel and use Light typing? |
