Summary | 0008445: Suction
Description | This would be an Earth spell (since to my mind at least, gravity effects belong to Earth.) The spell is an utility spell that lifts up items within a set radius, and draws them closer to the player (similar to the effect a Will-O-Wisp exerts on a player, but for items.) Line of sight would be needed, and breakables (gems, etc.) would not break; once broken, however, the dropped collectible would then be drawn closer as per normal. The spell would have a larger draw radius and faster draw speed at higher tiers. Aside from just standing in the middle of a small stash and using this to collect everything, this spell would be particularly useful in getting items that are in particularly dangerous places to get to (such as behind or in a trap, or behind / under a dangerfall, etc.)

Excluding traps, (and this is just my opinion) if it sucked enemies towards you too, at a longer range, or make enemies roughly in a line draw aggro onto you as if you attacked them, so that you have to be careful about reaching for items. Also an idea, a spell for a push, that does no damage, but has high knockback and reaches a medium-long area (more than melee whips) and penetrates traps and walls. Would make a good opposite spell to the pull effect of this one. Just an idea bounced off this idea. xD |

Im not 100% sure but are manipulating spells like this more a thing of entropy? For the push spell a spell that does not penetrate walls would fit in the air spell section I think. |

Suction seems balanced (and cool) enough, particularly if it draws both items and monsters. For Kio's idea of Push, there's already Splash Back. It doesn't penetrate walls (I'm not sure if there's anything that can penetrate walls atm, besides player ghosts), but otherwise it's something currently in place that serves as the "push things away" spell. |
