Summary0008415: Provide rally flares in rescue mission staging rooms
DescriptionNow that rally flares work in rescue missions, it would be nice if they were provided in rescue mission staging rooms.

This would serve as an extra hint (especially to returning players who did not read the 1.047 changelog) that the flares work in rescue missions.

It wouldn't change the balance of gameplay much, since it's not hard to find a battlefield mission.

Oh, I see.

The item coffer is present, but since I already have the item, I don't see what was in the coffer and I don't get the pick-up notification.

What do you think of placing the flare directly on the ground instead of in a coffer? This would match the way heat suits are provided in lava escape missions, and the way inner-light enchants are provided in freefall missions.

I'd actually be more inclined to go the other way and put them all in coffers; that way players aren't picking up useless extra stuff that they already have, you know?

Well, you could eliminate the bend-over-pick-up penalty for coffers or for items you already have.

Or the coffer image could indicate what is in the coffer even when you already have the item.

Why do you need to know what was in the coffer if it's irrelevant now, though? I mean except aside from testing type things.

The whole idea of coffers is to make something that gives you X when you need X, and is just semi-invisible background stuff when you don't need X.

* Coffers now show the icon of what they held in them, just lower and faded-out, when you have already opened them. This helps to provide a reminder as to what was in them, as well as potentially a clue about what kind of equipment might be needed in an upcoming mission if the coffer is in a mission staging area, for instance.
