Summary0008323: Removal of mission unlock has severely limited mission choices
DescriptionCertain missions are an acquired taste (journey to perfection, lava escape and umbra vortex spring to mind here), and so decent chunks of player base will refuse to do those missions. Now that they no longer need to be unlocked, between them they generally take up between a third and a half of all missions on the world map, resulting in frequent lack of missions you want to do since the few remaining missions don't have any rewards you want.

Secret missions don't help much with this since they tend to come with the same problem - most you find won't be offering something you want and a mission type you'll do.

I can see 2 different ways of solving this:-

1. Increase the number of missions; somewhere between a 50% increase and doubling the amounts should be about right to balance having missions available of each type in roughly the same amounts as before mission unlocks were removed.
2. Add an option to disable mission types from appearing on the world map or in secret missions. (Maybe add it to one of the Ilari Stones, since I imagine they're the ones telling you where the worldmap missions are in the first place).

(I'm not saying bring back the unlocks, since I can see why it was done; it's more a case of wanting to deal with this side effect.)

* Rather than trying to keep the frequency of a given mission type to 1/3 of the world map missions at most, instead the game now tries to keep it to 1/8th that amount or lower.
** This lowers the chances of getting stuck with a ton of mission types that you're really just not a fan of.

* The number of starting missions on the world map is still 4, but more missions on the world map now unlock more quickly -- they go up by 2 instead of by 1, to a max of 40 mission per continent rather than 20.
** However, as a corollary to that, it won't let you generate more missions than would fill 1/3 of the total non-windstorm tiles on a continent -- or 8, whichever is higher. This means that if you want more mission variety, you need to expand your borders! The missions won't just pile up on your tiny starting amount of non-windstorm land on later continents.
