| Description | For example, if you have a "Minor Watching Guardian" scroll and a "Moderate Wrath of Water" scroll, this reward would have a 50% chance of upgrading the watching to moderate, and a 50% chance of upgrading the water to major. I think this would make sense for Battleground missions, which are long and hard and dangerous. This would have several effects on gameplay: * You might decide to use your level-3 scrolls before they get upgraded out of your reach. * You might decide to use your "off-color" scrolls rather than hoard them, because you don't want an upgrade to be "wasted". (And so you're more likely to experiment with different attack spells.) * It will be harder to create a "full set" of minor, moderate, major, and potent scrolls to use simultaneously. * You won't hover over every mission reward scroll to see if it's a rare high-level scroll. Instead, you'll upgrade scrolls by completing difficult missions. * It will be easier to obtain high-level scrolls, so there will be increased incentive to (1) unlock high-level scrolls and (2) build personality structures for your settlement residents. * It will be easier to obtain high-level scrolls, so maybe they should nerfed a little (e.g. by reducing level-4 scrolls from 60% to 50%) to compensate. | ||||

I agree with this, as long as it's not exploitable. One thing I've noticed with the game is that while it's not all that hard to get the personality structures, actually finding scrolls that work with them (Major, Potent) is very, very hard. There just seems to be no way to get them. I think they shouldnt be EASY to get, but it should be at least feasible. I use alot of scrolls, so I'd love an alternate way of getting the level 4 and 5 ones that I normally never see. |

I agree with most of this. However, I don't think that guardian scrolls should ever be upgraded out-of-usability; missions rewards should be rewards, and losing access to a guardian scroll until you upgrade a profession isn't - it's a punishment, and would make missions with this "reward" highly avoided simply due to the chance that you're going to lose stuff by doing it rather than gain anything. |
