| Description | If I have explored many dungeons in a region, and I want to check for secret missions, I have to browse through all of the dungeon maps to look for secret mission rooms. This is especially annoying because, since the dungeon maps have different sizes, clicking on a dungeon often causes the region map to move. This could be alleviated by visually distinguishing dungeons in which a secret mission room has been scouted, possibly by changing their color on the region map or adding a special icon to them. | ||||

It looks like we brought up the same issue, just presented different solutions to it. I think I prefer your idea (provided that the representation doesn't look weird or obnoxious), as there being a third map on top of the existing two in the bottom right might be a bit of information overload, and wouldn't feel like a "map" so much as an eclectic collection of rooms from all over. That said, it might be that a solution for this is already in the works. In 0007618, it looks like a map-notetaking system is already being developed. I don't know how effective it will be at noting which rooms have secret missions (I get the impression that it'll require player input/typing and therefore be a bit tedious), but if it's not effective, then maybe that suggestion can be made for the map-notetaking system once it comes out? Or if this problem just doesn't seem remediable with map-notetaking, I guess that'd be a legitimate reason for interest to be renewed in this problem. |
