I tried loading your world and making a new medieval character, he seemed to take cold damage normally... Not sure how to use your character though. |

Are you sure you are in an Ice-Age area and not a Thawing Ice Age era? I dont' think thawing regions have ambient cold damage. |

If that's the case, then the descriptions of thawing regions need to be changed. |

Unless it was changed recently, I'm almost certain that thawing regions do cold damage. |

The amount of cold damage done in the thawing areas has been a bit less, and the medieval characters have SOME resistance to cold. So that might be what it is. |

Thanks! * Previously, the cold severity of the thawing ice age areas was low enough that medieval characters' armor was enough to keep them warm. Now the cold severity of the thawing ice age is high enough that you definitely have to be wearing a snowsuit to stay warm. The cold severity just affects how much damage you take from the cold, and the weight of the clothing of the character also factors into that. Only those with perfect protection from the cold/heat are shown as having protection in the menus, however. |
